Over-"Population"

Updated: Jul 2, 2022

[The following blogpost is one of a series of subjects originally published mid 2021 under the website section:

Although debatable whether overpopulation or the management of existing populations presents the greatest threat to "humanity" - erring on the side of caution Universal Asylum acknowledges the threat of both.

For centuries dominant societies have relentlessly borrowed from the futures of our children in our reliance upon population growth. This is recklessly irresponsible in terms of it's sustainability & requires immediate attention if we wish to survive as a species.

However, whilst exploring ethical & realistic means of facilitating gradual population reduction certainly wouldn't go astray. Universal Asylum acknowledges & asserts the urgent need for comprehensive economic, political & cultural reform as essential components of reducing the environmental impact of existing populations enough to avoid the looming ecological disaster everything currently faces due to our despicable species' miserable existence.

There are many complex components to this. Adjusting global economic structures to an extent that promotes global consistency in emissions & broader environmental standards & reduces pressures that result in companies & individuals "cutting corner"s to the detriment of all - would make a good start. However, an essential component of this is arguably facilitating comprehensive reform of many complex aspects of western societies' consumerist culture.

Unfortunately there are undoubtedly people out there in (or seeking to acquire) dangerous positions of power (such as Governments) with the intent of exploring viable means of culling the global population as a simple & easy solution to "overpopulation". The only way of avoiding such cowardice & unnecessary action is the formation of a predominately automated One World Leaderless System of Governance that removes &/or prevents people from acquiring such obscenely dangerous positions of power.

Establishing such systems will also enable our species to slow the fuck down enough to explore more efficient & humane ways of catering for the needs of the people we already have to an extent that allows for the population to gradually decline naturally.
